Test Data Generation

Problem Statement:
Training new users on Guidewire products, ClaimCenter for instance, requires substantial time and effort due to the need for realistic test data. Currently, customer has to manage themselves test data creation, often resorting to cumbersome and time-consuming methods like Selenium scripts. These scripts require constant maintenance and adjustments for any changes in the application interface, significantly increasing the training overhead. This process is inefficient and prone to errors, hindering effective and timely onboarding of new users.

Persona / Use Case(s):
Training administrators, new employees, and IT support teams who need efficient and scalable test data generation for training and system testing

Solution and Business Value:
The proposed solution is an automated test data generation app inside Integration Gateway with the following features (taking as example claim creation): 1- CSV Input: Users provide a CSV file with claim specifications, including for instance policy number, circumstances, assigned group, and the number of claims to create. 2- Cloud API Orchestration: The app orchestrates Cloud API calls to generate the required data based on the provided specifications on a specific environment (mainly training environment - never prod environment). 3- Associated Data Creation: Options to create associated services, matters, documents, notes, etc., for various test scenarios. 4- CSV Output: Produces an output CSV file listing the created claim numbers and any errors encountered. 5- Error Handling and Logging: Provides detailed logs and error reports to help users address any issues.

Implementing such tool would bring significant benefits on customer side, including: - Efficiency Gains: Automates test data creation, saving time for training administrators and IT support teams. - Cost Savings: Reducesthe need for manual data entry and script maintenance, lowering operational costs. - Improved Training Quality: Provides high-quality, realistic data sets, enhancing the learning experience. - Scalability: Easily generates large volumes of data, supporting extensive training programs without additional overhead. And on Guidewire, it would create a new service line where customers pay for data generation, offering a recurring revenue stream.
