⚠ The current problem statement
Customers on GWCP have an immediate need to have good quality test data in their NPE as well as uplifted environments (non-prod). Generally speaking, production has the best quality test data and this is typically accomplished by provisioning a masked Production database in the lower environments, where ever needed. Currently, there is no other solution that is available to subset production data for testing. PD has plans for the future, but it is not prioritized for at least the next 2 years (confirmed with PD). Services has built a tool "ISDT" for SM customers that is proven and effective to solve this problem. We can repurpose this tool to make it GWCP compliant

Implemented at multiple SM customers for various use cases. Its a proven solution already. For eg the following real world use cases is what this tool addressed already 1. Test data management 2. Production diagnostics 3. Mergers and Acquisition 4. Splitting of Production instances (businesses) - Transfers raw data natively “as-is” from InsuranceSuite (Source) to InsuranceSuite (Target), leveraging Guidewire supported Platform libraries - Little to Low Maintenance after Initial Implementation - Automatically picks up customer data model extensions - Supported by PD (and PD provided libraries) - Scalable - Supported for SM only at the moment and hence this innovation request - Supported for the entire InsuranceSuite
Business value from PS point of view - We can make this a packaged PS (IP) solution with the following Phase one - Install tool and assess customer specific implementation requirements (Discovery) $X Phase two - Basic implementation service ($Y set effort) Phase three - Ongoing support ($Z/Year to maintain/manage ) Total package sold as (X + Y ) + Optional Z For eg Phase One could be pitched as a $250k solution package, which would require a minimal Phase two cost of $200 (or Phase 1 and 2 can be combined into a $500 package), followed by Phase 3 maintenance of 50k/year, running over multiple years. Savings from a customer point of view - Infrastructure setup time and cost to host a large masked production db both storage and GPUs, Software licenses.
